Full Barns

Arise 5 Weekly Update: August 23, 2017; 1 Elul, 5777

Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine” (Prov. 3:9–10).

Full Barns and Breakthrough Via Dreams!

Greetings. It’s good to be able to write to you again after three weeks off. We took a break because the Lord instructed us to rest. I trust you have enjoyed your time of rest.

Resting in the Lord does not mean “departing from Him.” Rather, it means keeping our eyes on Him more than ever. Last update, I shared several prophecies from our final pre-break MPP, where the Lord reminded us that things He had spoken to us before but which have lain dormant would now begin to stir.

I found that to be true for me, and I am excited about how He is leading for the season ahead. I have a definite expectation of harvest. In addition to that, I want to share two more things:

Getting Our Barns Full—Pay more attention to firstfruits and the Hebrew months. I have been walking in this for about ten years now, and I can testify that through it the Lord has brought me to a place of overflow. However, I feel the Lord challenged me to be even more diligent and intentional in this. I was reminded again of Proverbs 3:9–10. If we honor the Lord with our firstfruits (offerings) and finances, then our barns and storehouses will be filled. I know that these verses primarily refer to finances, but the same principle also applies to our churches and ministries. So if you want to grow, then be specific and intentional in celebrating firstfruits monthly.

Breakthrough Via a Dream—It’s kind of ironic that during this rest period, I went through some rather difficult things. When I asked the Lord why this particular issue was so longstanding, the only reason I sensed He gave me was that we live in a strategic place. Nevertheless, this issue/conflict has not been pleasant and it was a real challenge to stay in peace and rest. But the Lord is good. He gave me a dream, and when I woke up I knew the “problem/conflict” had been sorted. (The issue is still there, but the demonic power behind it was broken.) I am so thankful to the Lord and how He can so simply and easily shift and change things for us.

I am so thankful for each one of you and feel honored that He has given us these connections with so many. Much blessing to you as you enter into this new season.

Thanks for praying.

Month of Elul (Aug. 23–Sept. 20): Expect Harvest

One of the highlights of this sixth Hebrew month has to do with rewards and harvest. Below is a quote about the month of Elul:

The month of rewards. Rewards begin to manifest over what you have done. Think, “reward.” You will begin to reap what you have sown. If you constantly labor and never see the reward, you’ll get burned out. You need to know how to abound. (In Philippians 4:12, Paul said that he knew how to abound.) Also in these end times, let us remember the sowing-reaping cycle is rapidly speeding up.
