Speak His Name!

Arise 5 Weekly Update: Sept 6, 2017; 15 Elul, 5777

“Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground” (John 18:6).

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe” (Prov. 18:10).

Need Problems to Fall Back? Just Speak the Name of Jesus!

On Monday, we were talking about Proverbs 18:10, which states: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into and are safe.” The message is clear—the Lord wants us to use His name. It will protect us.

I had intended to review the blessings of the month of Elul, but the Holy Spirit overruled and led me to look at when they came to arrest Jesus in the garden. Jesus asked who they were looking for and they replied, “Jesus.” When He answered, “I am He,” they were all knocked to the ground. Amazing. I wanted to share that with you because perhaps today you need to speak out the name of Jesus over your situation, or family, or whatever problem there might be. Speak out the name of Jesus and watch problems fall back! Don’t just “think” His name, but actually speak it out. I feel this is a relatively urgent word because of how strongly the Lord overruled and led us.

God Aligns Us So That Together We Can Win an “Open Heaven”

We had a tremendous time in Sano this past Saturday. We had an Arise 5 Japan leaders meeting in the afternoon, and then celebrated firstfruits for Elul with the church in the evening. I am increasingly seeing the fulfillment of why the Lord led us to start Arise 5. Of course there are many reasons for an apostolic network like ours—I want to see apostles and prophets rise up in the church and marketplace. I also want us to be a prototype of the new wineskin where primary growth and evangelism occur through all the believers, and not just the leadership. We have been moving in this for quite some time.

Thus, I have always felt that whenever we meet corporately there should be such a moving of the Holy Spirit that the heavens are opened to release miracles and manifestations of God’s glory. This shouldn’t just be in the meeting place, but should also result in doors being flung open for everyone back home. When people return home, they should find more opportunities and breakthrough in their churches and businesses. Corporate alignment results in much, much individual advancement.

The Lord really blessed our corporate gathering on Saturday, and I know that the heavens were opened for all who attended, regardless of where they came from. I look forward to reports of open heavens that God gave because of our time together.

Additionally, it seemed that significantly more people attended than usual. I feel this is a prophetic sign that things are shifting into advance and increase. It’s like “a troop has come” (Gen. 30:11).

Thanks for praying.
