Opening the Highway
“In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, ‘Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance’” (Isa. 19:23–25).
I feel the Lord is continuing to emphasize the theme of alignment. Last week, He reminded us just how important it is to be thankful for each other. This all has to do with our relationships as we honor one another in love. This also is linked with our being a family. When we appreciate and honor others, it blesses them—and of course we ourselves are blessed because it comes back on us. The more we obey the Lord in this, the more we are connected as family. This then brings us into a unity upon which the Lord commands blessing. In Psalm 133, we read, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! … For there the Lord commanded the blessing.” It is this unity and family that people around the world hunger for and which the apostolic church is all about.
This “family” principle is behind what happened last week in Egypt. I was there with a small group of internationals (from countries including Japan, Taiwan, China, and Canada) and leaders from Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon. The focus was on opening the spiritual highway of Isaiah 19. The above verses clearly speak of a spiritual highway in the last days linking Egypt, Israel, and Assyria (which today would mean countries like Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq). We knew our assignment was to pray this highway “open.” We also knew the key was for the three groups (Egypt, Israel, Assyria) to recognize that God was aligning them and to step into this alignment.
There is not enough space here to describe how they repented, honored, and blessed one another. This included several prophetic acts, and in the end the Lord did declare the highway open.
Spiritually, what does this mean? Like anywhere, as soon as a highway opens, traffic improves. Not only does it flow faster, but the volume of traffic also greatly increases. Thus spiritually speaking, we can expect to see the gospel spreading quickly within—as well as to and from—those nations. We can expect that many, many Arabs will be visited by the Lord, and will see dreams and visions. Many will be saved, and those nations will begin to change. They will not be forgotten and left desolate, but will begin to enter the destinies that God has for them. (I should add that last year in Jerusalem, the Lord gave me a sudden “download,” and I realized I needed to repent of my Western mindset and theology about Arabs. We basically viewed them as Abraham’s mistake, not recognizing that they also have a calling and a destiny. It was my great privilege to be able to verbalize that to them last week.) From now on, I believe we will begin to hear reports of miracles and increasing numbers turning to Jesus in the Middle East.
I should also say that this “opening of the highway” will have direct impact on Japan. After all, we are linked with Egypt in that both nations from ancient times have been “ruled” by the same “sun goddess.” Thus, advance of the gospel in Egypt will also result in advance in Japan as well.
We live in amazing times.
Thanks for praying.

Alignment for Japan’s Harvest—Arise 5 Japan New Year’s Conference
January 7–8, 2018
We know that now is the time of harvest in Japan. We also know that God is preparing the new vessels of apostolic centers and house/marketplace churches to bring in that harvest. The key in all of this is following the Lord in alignment. We must resist the human tendency to “do it by ourselves,” and allow the Lord to link us with His family.
